PRA Lowers SRRV Age Requirement to 40

SRRV Updates on Visa Deposit Rules

The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) has announced major changes to its Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) program, including the lowering of the minimum age requirement and increased deposit amounts for certain applicants. These updates create new opportunities for younger retirees, professionals, and returning Filipinos, while also reinforcing the importance of early application for those aged 50 and above.

SRRV Now Open to Applicants Aged 40 and Above

In a move to make the Philippines more accessible to foreign nationals and former Filipinos, the PRA has lowered the minimum age requirement for SRRV applications to 40 years old. Previously, only individuals aged 50 and above were eligible. Here are the SRRV Deposit Requirements for Ages 40–49:

Applicants aged 40–49 may now apply under the following SRRV options:

SRRV Expanded Courtesy (for military personnel, diplomats, and others who qualify):

• With Pension: $3,000

• Without Pension: $6,000

SRRV Courtesy (for Former Filipinos):

• $3,000

This expanded age range allows younger foreign nationals—whether retirees, remote workers, or investors—to establish long-term residency in the Philippines with special incentives. Deposit Increases for SRRV Applicants Aged 50+ If you are 50 years old and above, take note: the PRA is implementing higher visa deposit requirements for select SRRV options.

These changes are expected to take effect very soon, making it important to act promptly if you are already preparing your application.

Updated SRRV Deposit Requirements for Ages 50 and Above:

• SRRV Classic with Pension: Increased from $10,000 → $15,000

• SRRV Classic without Pension: Increased from $20,000 → $30,000

• SRRV Expanded Courtesy: Remains unchanged at $1,500

PRA Fee Adjustments: What You Need to Know

In addition to the deposit changes, the PRA has also made updates to its processing and annual fees to align with current operational costs. These revised fees will apply to both new applicants and existing SRRV holders, especially those under the Courtesy visa category. We recommend reviewing these adjustments with your visa consultant to determine the full cost implications.
